I am originally from Eugene, Oregon where I went to a Spanish immersion elementary school. My immersion experience carried me through high school where I also studied in advanced placement Spanish classes as well as the full International Baccalaureate curriculum for high school students.
I went to college at Chapman University in Orange, California. I studied communications as well as studio art. During my time there I studied abroad in London, became involved in the 2008 presidential election and learned how to be an active citizen.
I spent a year working in politics and quickly realized my dream was in the classroom. I was accepted into Columbia University's Teachers College and graduated with my MA in Elementary Inclusive Education on May 17, 2011. I spent a year teaching 4th grade in New York City and am now teaching 4th grade in Los Angeles!
I have a cat named Stephen, I love photography and the outdoors and my favorite type of food is Mexican! I love to travel and have been blessed with many opportunities to see the world.
